About Rachel:
Rachel McDaniel, LMSW

Rachel McDaniel, LMSW (she/they) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Rachel believes that the start of therapy is a first step down the path of becoming the person you want to be. It requires courage and trust in the expert walking the path with you. Rachel is an expert in creating this environment. They believe that every person deserves the opportunity to tell their story in an attentive and compassionate setting.

Before their launch into private practice, Rachel worked with a wide range of people in Community Mental Health. Rachel has provided psychotherapy in corrections, community, outpatient, and inpatient settings in Wichita and rural Kansas. Rachel worked alongside emergency professionals within their various roles in the community, including work with Comcare’s Mobile Crisis Unit and providing in home therapy to juvenile offenders and their parents.

Rachel identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and is drawn to working with queer individuals to address the trauma associated with systemic marginalization. This has grown into an interest in the way that trauma impacts ALL marginalized communities’ physical and emotional health. Rachel sought education related to chronic pain and syndromes involving the entanglement of mental and physical health to better support marginalized people. They are passionate about providing quality trauma treatment within the community and regularly expand their understanding of trauma through continuing education.

Rachel enjoys the process of meeting clients where they are at and developing skills to embody the change they want to see in the world. They believe in the power of post-traumatic growth to lead those who have been through some of the hardest challenges to become a powerful source of wisdom in the community.
