About Michaela:

Hello, my name is Michaela, and I am a student clinical mental health counselor. I have a passion for helping people work through either past trauma or current struggles in order for them to work towards becoming the people who they want to be. I have had people in my life that have helped me overcome obstacles and now I am motivated to help others do the same.

I have previously obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Wichita State University, and am currently pursuing a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University. During my Criminal Justice experience as an undergrad, I really gained a passion for helping victims of crimes and the services available to these victims which led me to discover the field of counseling. One of my biggest passions and something I am working towards is being able to help clients who have experienced trauma as I realize how scary it must be to reach out for help after experiencing something traumatic.

Before this internship experience, I completed a practicum experience where I got to work with a wide range of people with a variety of different concerns. I gained a lot of knowledge about being able to work with diverse people of all different backgrounds and I am very excited to continue learning and growing in this experience as well.

Michaela works with:
