About Jess:

A strength-based perspective regarding our health is what we all deserve.  It is my firm belief that we shouldn’t deduce an individual to a diagnosis but dive deeper into the attachment wounds, nurturement, and past and present environmental factors that contribute to a person’s unique mental health needs. A label or diagnosis is merely language to describe a multitude of factors that have affected us. Everything in nature, including humanity, is a symbiosis. Mental health is often based off mutualistic interactions such as trauma and attachment needs. My approach to my practice is working with clients with unconditional positive regard and focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic tactics that I prefer come from a holistic principle with the idea that health comes from the interaction of the whole.

Coming from the belief that attachment needs are the basis of many mental health issues, I enjoy working with children and adults in healing attachment injuries and strengthening bonds. We all can successfully heal. As a therapist my goal is to provide every child, teenager, and adult with a safe space and be radically patient in order to understand the complexity of each person. I have been working with adolescents and preadolescents for ten years in different capacities.

I am a Licensed professional Counselor who received my Master’s degree at Wichita State University and a certification in Child Play Therapy. I use this to understand the entirety of a human’s development and how it relates to the whole human experience.
