EMDR

Treatment for Trauma, PTSD

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a research-based treatment mode which is effective in helping people “reprocess” traumatic events in their lives and move forward, diminishing the impact of trauma. According to the EMDR Institute, it is a “comprehensive, integrative approach. It contains elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies.” Go to EMDR Institute, Inc. to learn more about this approach. If you are suffering the effects of trauma, we would value the chance to help. There are clinicians at Real Life Counseling who utilize EMDR. You can read more about them here.
